Time flies when you’re busy. Considering it has been over a month since I last posted and my life is in a sort of shambles, I think it’s time I get back on track with blogging and my self improvement goals.
The past month was filled with a two week-long vacation and business travel every other week. I have managed to let my goals slip in the name of exhaustion from excelling at work. Who says I can’t be successful at both life and work? Time management is all it takes.
Aside from maintaining my finances with a well-regulated budget and dividing cleaning tasks by day so they’re more manageable, I want to make a big change this month. Each month I set a goal and try to accomplish it. I make my password relevant to the goal, so it becomes a sort of mantra for my life that I repeat several times a day.
This month’s goal is to unplug, with the exception of my blog.
Jokes usually contain a nugget of truth, and more than a few people have made both jokes and straightforward comments on how often I am on my phone. And it’s true: I am glued to my phone. My problem is only exacerbated by the fact that my work revolves around social media.
It’s not just the comments though. I have noticed my personal relationships suffer from being on my phone when I should be spending time with my loved ones. It detracts from my quality of life. So November is no-phone-November for me.
By not using my phone in any free time, I will become more efficient as well as spend more quality time with others.
What do you want to change about yourself?
I think my goals are not so different than anyone’s–lose weight, read more (and better) books, clean up the house, stop procrastinating, work smarter, take care of myself (health, food and exercise) and make my life better overall.

One of my goals for this month is to stop wasting money on food because I am being too lazy to make myself something for lunch and breakfast. It’s far too easy to say that I will make a change tomorrow and then never separate some time to be proactive about something. That is one of the main barriers to me succeeding at my goal so I will be sure to watch for that. Your posts really inspire me to keep making myself better so keep them coming!
